Wash House & Privy - 1/24th scale

The pictures show the completed model that you will take home at the end of the workshop.

Duration:  One day
Venue: Held at venue of your choice
Price of kit:  £65

Price of workshop:

• £10 per person (minimum number of 5)
• cost of kit for each participant (£65 each)
• travelling costs at 25p per mile.
   

What The Workshop Will Include

Participants will be provided with the walls and base of the wash house and privy pre-assembled with an unpainted brick and flagstone finish. 

The workshop is suitable for complete beginners or those with more experience. The workshop will show you how to -

• build a door and a window
• assemble the front wall of the wash house
• make and apply roof tiles
• assemble a water closet for the privy
• build an outside tap and stone trough
• make a washing line with posts and prop
• paint a realistic brick and flagstone effect
• use paints to create ageing effects.

Written instructions will be provided so that participants can finish off any items at home if they have insufficient time at the workshop.
 

Enhancements

Suitable fittings for your wash house can be bought at the workshop for a 10% discount on our normal prices.

This model is designed to fit onto a matching cottage that will shortly be available in kit form.
 

Tools Required

A variety of tools will be provided but participants are requested to bring the following to avoid time lost through sharing -

• sharp craft knife
• mitre cutters, if possible
• pencil
• steel rule
• scissors
• small brushes for glue, paint and wood stain
• cloth to clean brushes
• a cutting mat would also be useful.
